Description
ORIGINAL 1963 MONO FIRST PRESSING ----------------------------------- - Blue Note Records Inc, New York USA labels both sides - RVG stamp in runout both sides - Plastylite "P" (ear) in runout - Hand-etched matrix: BN-LP-4082-A / BN-LP-4082-B - Mono, no R in Blue Note logo, era markings consistent with pre-Liberty Plastylite pressing - Personnel: Horace Parlan, Grant Green, Booker Ervin, George Tucker, Al Harewood
THE MUSIC ----------------------------------- One of the strongest entries in Parlan's Blue Note run, and a key early Grant Green session. Booker Ervin's tenor and Green's guitar trade features over the classic Parlan-Tucker-Harewood rhythm section. Includes The Book's Beat, Fugee, and Tommy Turrentine's Light Blue.
CONDITION ----------------------------------- VINYL - VERY GOOD (VG): Visual grade under strong light. Consistent field of light hairlines and paper scuffs on both sides, plus several longer surface scratches. Prior owner (original collector) noted this copy plays with very good sound with some light crackle - consistent with the visual grade. Labels are clean and bright on both sides with minor wrinkle at edge of side 2 label. Graded conservatively - please review all photos.
JACKET - VERY GOOD MINUS (VG-): Front cover presents well with strong color and gloss but has corner wear and lamination lifting at edges. Top and bottom seam edges show wear-through with exposed cardboard. Back cover has significant prior-owner writing in marker: a name and handwritten track annotations from the original owner era - visible in photos. Seams intact, no splits. Graded honestly for the writing and edge wear - please review all photos. What you see is what you get. Additional photos gladly provided on request.
SHIPPING ----------------------------------- Record removed from jacket before packing. Shipped in audiophile-grade inner sleeve plus outer sleeve, packed in a Whiplash heavyweight LP mailer with stiffeners. Fully insured to sale price. USA shipping only. Additional photos available on request.
