Description
We have purchased some of the collection of west coast Jazz DJ Matt Lewis, whose show, The Jazz Scene ran on KNOB - Long Beach, California, in the 60's... One of the coolest, most complete collections of early pressings, and DJ promos we have come across with one awfully SAD caveat - 99% of his massive collection was in a devastating fire - leaving countless Blue Note, Prestige, McLean, Coltrane & Mingus etc warped & burned beyond salvation. A few tough blue notes though, refusing to perish have hung on to play again!! We are offering a few of these survivors now - please note condition / descriptions as they vary a bit. (We have play tested all the LP's)

COVER: VG+ Striking laminated front cover looks great - no writing, or ringwear. Still in Shrinkwrap!! Smoke residue visible on or under shrink at opening and some on rear cover.... I believe if buyer decides to tear away shrink, much of this soot residue will come away with it. Seams are great. No splits. Corners are nice. Sleeve opening is still sharp. Text is visible on sharp spine. Sleeve is slightly warped from storage.
VINYL: VG- Beautiful copy with lots of shine 3 or 4 wispy play marks - looks and sounds GREAT! Gorgeous... Just a very few pops at intro side one. Lower grade HOWEVER due to slight edge warp that is visible on play. Free of any high end distortion. BIG SOUND! High and low frequencies come through clearly! LP was probably played carefully only a handful of times.
