This is a Mid-6o's U.S. Blue Note SEALED stereo pressing of Horace Silver's 1965 release entitled "Song For My Father".  Features recordings by two different quintets as Silver changed up the band between two recording dates.  Six classic songs played with much enthusiasm and inspiration.  Joe Henderson's first appearance with Silver is a memorable one (the tenor solo on the title track is fantastic......just ask Walter Becker and Donald Fagan). Essential mid-60's bop lp.

Dead wax  has etchings/stampings that I cannot see as the lp is sealed.     

Vinyl visual Grading:  ASSUMED NM as the lp is a flat factory-sealed lp.  

Vinyl play Grading:  ASSUMED NM as the lp is a flact factory-sealed lp. 

Cover visual Grading:  VG+/NM on this heavy cardboard paste-over Pre-Liberty cover. Corners are sharp and shrink is completely intact (which is just INCREDIBLE considering that this lp is at least 43 years old. There are some slight factory creases/lines which are very hard to see unless in a certain light. OVERALL an excellent example of this great cover. 

I have no idea what inner is included but it will be a Blue Note branded inner of the era. 

I offer no guarantees on the pressing EXCEPT to say that it will either be an initial "Liberty Records" OR "New York USA".  Therefore there will be no returns on this item once the lp has been opened.  But then again, why would you open it???

NM:  Virtually unmarked / considered either RARELY PLAYED, AS NEW OPENED, or record could still be SEALED.

VG+:  NO scratches/scuffs. At most a few light surface blemishes which have VERY LITTLE or NO effect on fidelity. 

VG:  Used but CERTAINLY NOT abused, perhaps extremely light surface scratching/scuffing causing noise which DOES NOT significantly compromise the fidelity of the music

G:   There will be visible marking and noise evident but the record will still be listenable and enjoyable, depending on your ears.

I do not use the Mint grading since there really is no such thing as perfection. Also, I will NOT sell noisy vinyl (Fair/Poor gradings) UNLESS I feel that there is significant historical and/or collector interest in the item. 

ALL records will have been visually graded under BRIGHT light and play graded on a Thorens TD165 table with little used Shure cartridge (at about 1.5 grams) and JBL reference headphones with the Treble set HIGH. This play-grading system masks very little so rest assured that my descriptions will be ACCURATE.

All of my listings will have the particulars detailed (ie. any blemishes, detail concerning condition of vinyl, cover, etc.). All records will be shipped in new or top-condition recycled record mailers with well padded corners and extra stiffeners. Original inners will be included if available, and all vinyl/covers will be held within a poly outer (vinyl will be outside of cover).

Shipping for cds will be $3 within Canada/U.S. and $5 to U.K./Japan. I will, of course, offer shipping/handling cost breaks on multiple items BUT since I am shipping from Canada (where we live with NOTORIOUSLY high postal rates), you may not receive the price break that you are hoping for.   AGAIN, being a reasonable person, I will be absorbing some of the costs of postage and ALL of the costs of shipping materials.
