Description
Blue Note BLP 1520, deep groove on both sides with 767 Lexington Ave. address on both sides and the bottom of the back cover. Record has "ear" and RVG" inscribed in the dead wax. 12 tracks includes Silver, piano on 10 tracks with Gene Ramey or Curly Russell or Percy Heath, bass(on 10 tracks) Art Blakey, drums on all tracks. Sabu is featured with Blakey on 2, duo , tracks.. Recorded from 1952 to 1953. Horace Silver's autograph is on the top margin of the back cover. It is below a 5" strip of scotch tape. The tape slightly intersects the top of the "h" in "Best Wishes". The whole autograph can be seen clearly. See scan.
Cover: VG 5" scotch tape repair as mentioned above; 9" scotch tape repair on the spine. 3" scotch tape on the bottom edge. The tape shows some aging. Light aging on the back cover. Minor aging on the front cover.
Record: VG to VG+ Visually shows no wear. There are a small number of short rub marks on both sides. There is some light groove noise at intervals. This is barely audible and not evident on all tracks. There are, also, some light clicks and pops throughout. This noise is not continuous and for the most part is light but audible. Heavy vinyl pressing.
