THIS IS THE ORIGINAL FIRST MONO PRESSING FROM 1967 of "The Jody Grind" by the Horace Silver Quintet/Sextet on Blue Note.

BNLP 4250 A and BNLP 4017 B-1, Van Gelder IN THE DEAD WAX. Blue Note Records, A Division of Liberty Records, Inc on label, This is the genuine article. 100% AUTHENTIC ORIGINAL BLUE NOTE FIRST MONO PRESSING.

THIS RECORD IS FROM OUR PERSONAL COLLECTION. Well maintained. Very Rare.

*Because our clients are mostly jazz collectors and connoisseurs, as we are, we made it our policy to only sell vinyl that we grade in VERY GOOD (VG) condition or better. This vinyl is in our opinion a VG+, looks and plays great.

Record Grade VG+ = Very well maintained. The vinyl is in beautiful condition. I just now listened to both sides of the whole album and it plays smooth and quiet. Shiny vinyl. A few surface scratches that have little to no effect on sound, occasional pop at most. Difficult to find this rare vintage record in such great condition. (see pictures)

Jacket Grade VG+ = Shiny, clean, well maintained. Gatefold is beautiful. We grade the jacket a VG+. No tape. This record is from our personal collection. No major defects at all, just normal use wear. A very clean jacket for a 49 year old album. We have kept it in plastic. It comes with the original Blue Note paper inner sleeve, which is slightly ripped. (see pictures)

The pictures were taken of the exact vinyl record and album cover you will receive, moments before this listing was written. Please make sure to review the images and ask any questions prior to bidding.

*We consider all reasonable offers and respond to ebay messages immediately.

"The Jody Grind" is a 1966 recording by the Horace Silver Quintet, led by jazz pianist Horace Silver. Released the following year on his lifetime label Blue Note, it peaked No. 8 of the Billboard jazz album charts. As one of his “groove-centered” recordings it would “wind up as possibly the most challenging”, Steve Huey writes on Allmusic, and gave “one of the most underappreciated” of Silver's albums 4½ stars.
