Description

Mint Condition Smokestack Lightnin’/Going Down Slow This rare 1964 promo recording is part of a recently-discovered cache of demos, acetates and other records from the BBC. The A side is Wolf’s seminal R&B hit Smokestack Lightnin’ featuring the eery guitar of Hubert Sumlin while the B side is a wonderful cover of St Louis Jimmy’s slow blues classic which Wolf made his own. Listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvUZhAZTdOk Pye International 7N25244 It is in mint condition with no marks to vinyl or spindle marks and appears to be unplayed. The label bears a black A and the stamped release date 12 May 1964. There are written names to the A side. Comes in an original mauve Pye International sleeve.
