"The Real Thing" starts us off with some serious groove with tough-as-nails drumming by Joe Anello, cool wah wah, dirty sax, and the funkiest bass below the canadian border. The oft-comped "Cornbread And Beans" opens with an ill break for bars and bars and then cuts into a ditty which will have the funk heads nodding along with envious grins at your next throwdown. "Since My Baby Left Me Standing Alone" a soulful jazz-dance number with an amazing beat. The spiritual genius of "Utopian Chant" big brass set to mounting excitement amidst the percussion. And last but not least "The Get Down Song" big breaks, big bass, big guitar, big funk, worth every dollar. This will not show up again this pretty and sparkling.
