As safe as yesterday is

Original 1st Press OZ LP released in 1969 on the Lilac Immediate Records Label. Cat: IMSP025. Comes with original printed lyric inner bag which is in VG+ condition.

This batch of LP’s are from a very recently acquired collection of all original late 60’s early 70’s pressing LP’s. There are around 200 albums I hope to list over the coming weeks some fantastic titles amongst them most over 45 years old!! I have hand cleaned and listened to every album and graded conservatively (as per usual) to give the most accurate grading I can. I hope you enjoy browsing or bidding on the titles as much as I have listening to them all.

Humble Pie, known as boogie hammerheads, at least once achieved American popularity in the mid-'70s. Its origins were quite different, however, and its debut album, As Safe as Yesterday Is, is a visionary blend of hard blues, crushing rock, pastoral folk, and post-mod pop. There's no denying that the sound of the band isn't just good, it's quite engaging, as the band bring disparate elements together, letting them bump up against each other, forming a wildly rich blend of hippie folk and deeply sexy blues. Musically, this set a template for a lot of bands that followed later Led Zeppelin seemed to directly lift parts of this, and Paul Weller would later rely heavily on this for his '90s comeback and it's very intriguing and rewarding on that level.

Tracks: Desperation/ Stick shift/ Buttermilk/ Growing closer/ As safe as yesterday is/ Bang!/ Alabama ’69/ I’ll be gone/ A nifty little number like you/ What you will.

There are a few very light spindle marks on labels. Record has some light scuff marks  that cause a few light crackles throughout mostly noticeable between tracks and is in Excellent condition. Cover has some ring wear and light marks and is in VG+ condition.
