THE BLUE BEAT / DRIVE IN ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by COMPLESSO I CENTAURI. Original Italian pressing on CRICKET FONIT CETRA label (SPK 1408), from circa 1970. Obscure single by this mysterious Italian beat group featuring a killer example of the genre. THE BLUE BEAT side mixes up gritty rhythm and blues with early funk / mod and garage influences. Sparse and primitive sound with chugging deep funk bassline / sleazy B-boy drum breaks / psychedelic hammond organ / fuzz distortions and tittyshaker sax riffs. Great for DJs. DRIVE IN sounds straight out of an Italian sex comedy with goofy latin bossa rhythms / harpsichord and drum breaks. No picture sleeve exists, item only ever released with custom Fonit Cetra label card sleeve. Rare 45!!!
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
Vinyl is closer to M- overall with a few hairlines from sleeve removal. Light surface noises. Record housed in custom Fonit Cetra label card sleeve. Back sleeve has large, old price sticker in Lire from 2001 ;) Rare 45!!!
