Idle Race is the self-titled follow-up to the band's critically acclaimed debut LP, "The Birthday Party".
Released in November 1969, this record was the first to bear the famous “Produced By Jeff Lynne” tag.
While the album was more straightforward and poppy than its predecessor, like the first Idle Race offering, it failed to crack the charts.
Flustered, Jeff Lynne decided to accept Roy Wood's invitation to join fellow Birmingham band The Move. (wikipedia)
