MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original Odeon Records very first MONO press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1969 by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon, S.A. (Odeon Records Chile), licensed from Immediate Records Inc., catalog number LDC-36692, with machine etched matrix numbers MT 1132 IV 1 in Side 1 and MT 1132 2 V in Side 2, with green/black Odeon Records labels, with big boxed Odeon logo at top and small boxed EMI logo at bottom. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!! Amazing rarity for fans and collectors of UK beat music from the sixties!!!

“IMMEDIATE DISCOTHEQUE” is a compilation released in 1969 in Chile and maybe this album was only released here in Chile, I’ve never seen this tracklist or picture sleeve in some other album, and like so many times in that period, we got it with an UNIQUE COVER made of two single pieces of cardboard and two sheets of paper attached (not glued) to that cardboard for front and back cover and kept together for a plastic bag. Front cover is very simple, it has a picture of a sexy girl, with the album title in red lettering, the name of all the bands and singers and the songs included, with the EMI, Odeon and Immediate Records logo. Back cover has the album title at top, 2 pictures of Chris Farlowe and Small Faces and the tracklist written in English, translated to Spanish, with full credits for songwriters and arrangements and direction of some songs (by Art Greensalde, Phil Dennys or Small Faces). In labels, below the album title, it’s the tracklist written in English only, with full credits for songwriters and performer of each song. The tracklist in this UNIQUE COMPILATION album:

The importance of this record is in the fact to include 12 songs of the UK beat/psych scene of late sixties from the independent label Immediate, with songs which were never released as singles in Chile and one of them by Billy Nicholls, “Would You Believe” (sure you already know the value of that first LP by him). And this compilation album also has some interesting errors to notice, in front and back covers the name of Billy Nicholls is misspelled “Billy NICHOLS”, in front cover the song “Yesterday’s Papers” is misspelled “YESYERDAYS Papers” and in labels the name of Chris Farlowe is misspelled “Chris FARLOW”!!! So, here you have the chance to own this megarare UNIQUE COMPILATION with 12 songs of UK beat/psych with an UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE ERRORS!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great EX or EX+ condition, no ring marks, no rips, no blemishes, only some minimal wear and creases in the edges, more evident in corners and mouth edges, with light age browning in back cover. The record is in EX or EX+ condition, glossy and clean, with scuffs and soft hairlines, hard to see at first sight, which don’t affect play at all. Labels on both sides are in great EX- or EX condition, clean and clear, with only minimal spindle hole wear, a writing in both sides and the name of the radio station and the date the record was received stamped on both labels. The sound is a great surprise, it’s in strong EX or EX+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), only some very light occasional crackles and some soft pops here and there almost impossible to hear, which don’t affect the great experience to listen this album, most of the songs play in absolute NM- or NM condition. Overall this is a great record in this MEGARARE PRESS, with a very nice glossy look, almost immaculate labels and amazing sound quality after 46 years which won’t disappoint anyone, a record to see, hear and enjoy from the beginning to the end!!! And don’t forget the UNIQUE COVER, the UNIQUE TRACKLIST and UNIQUE ERRORS!!! Yes Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
