Original 1969 - RARE first press... this underground rock LP artifact is few and far found but decidedly worth the hunt to acquire. Mostly a showcase to highlight stellar playing by "Far Cry" it's hard not to be impressed :::
Powerful howling & growling vocals, great acid guitar sounds and sax & organ freak-outs in front of a solid bass & drum background, all played with a cool groove & vibe rollin' along the two sides of the Lp. An inventive & inspiring album, the American equivalent to the British heavy progressive groups like Catapilla, Van der Graaf Generator, Gnidrolog or Raw Material - and sure it rocks!

If you have no problem with Anna Meek's voice on the first Catapilla album you could also find Jere Whitting's unusual vocals rather interesting. Overall, we agree with other fans of the album: what a shame this was their only release! Innovative and quite unique for their day, they were an early progressive outfit. Some, though not all of their music is jazz flavored via complex layered moves -- and psych influences. Most of their tracks feature rather extensive jams from guitar and sax, and some cuts are in the blues direction. As for the impressive guitar injections, think of the style by John Cippolina of Quicksilver and you've got it.
