PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! When it comes to live albums, there are two standards in the music industry. Besides the Who 'Live At Leeds' there is Humble Pie's "Performance: Rockin' the Fillmore." This is a beautiful 1971 first pressing, and is not an album people merely listen to; it is an album that can only be experienced. The thrilling intensity of the British super group's live show is 'caught in the act' and can be attributed to the electric chemistry generated between vocalist Steve Marriott and guitar god Peter Frampton. Formerly of Small Faces, Marriott's soulful rock 'n' roll voice is the perfect foil to Frampton's rock guitar injections.
The seven-song album is an exhilarating slice of Humble Pie history. Almost all of the songs include extended solos and improvisational tangents that would never be allowed on a studio album. Unpredictable tracks like "Stone Cold Fever" are refreshing and keep the listener actively engaged until the end. The band also showcases its musical stamina on the marathon jam, "I Walk On Gilded Splinters." This 23-minute epic features Marriott's dynamic range as he seamlessly shifts from demonic lows to primal, high-pitched wails that only fellow English rocker Robert Plant could rival.The closing anthem, "I Don't Need No Doctor," is one of the group's most recognizable songs. Brimming with uncontrollable energy, this guitar-driven rocker spotlights Frampton's expressive, spellbinding solos. With every note, the listener is continually drawn into Humble Pie's other worldly sound.
Although the album is filled with standouts, the band really shines on the the legendary "Hallelujah (I Love Her So)." The potent combination of Marriott's mile-high vocal range and Frampton's quick, clear solos make this rock-oriented cover a classic in its own right...
