A great debut LP, and there was to be no more after this excellent release. The group recorded this well crafted album - ahead of the time in my opinion - it's been a favourite for many lovers of progressive rock. They auditioned along with Black Sabbath for Vertigo, but were not signed for another year - by which time they were more complex and had built an outstanding repertoire and instrumental prowess. Sabbath were probably more 'obvious' as a commercial heavy rock band, and they achieved a lot of success from that fact. It's now in hindsight that bands like this -Titus Groan, Gracious!, Cressida etc have been getting higher regard. A tremendous album, the compositions are consistent and fantastic, with great effective use of phasing AND phrasing - and the arrangements are exceptionally fine. A progressive-rock connoisseur's album.See my feedback, and other items for sale. ===============================
