Released on Salsoul Records, Instant Funk is the self-titled breakout LP from the Philadelphia-based funk outfit that had previously backed artists like Bunny Sigler and the Trammps. This album marked their transition from session players to full-fledged stars, delivering a high-octane blend of funk, disco, and soul that lit up dancefloors across the U.S.

Produced by Bunny Sigler, the album is drenched in tight grooves, punchy horn sections, and infectious rhythms. It’s best known for the smash hit “I Got My Mind Made Up (You Can Get It Girl),” a disco-funk anthem that became a club staple and topped the Billboard R&B chart.
