Description

Up for auction is a beautiful copy of "Interpretations By The Stan Getz Quintet #3" released on Norgran Records (MG N-1029) in 1953.  This is an original, deep groove, mono pressing, not a cheap reissue.  This is the nicest copy I've ever come across.  Classic David Stone Martin illustrated cover.  The cover is beautiful, looks virtually new.  The seams are strong and intact, no splits, which are so common with this album.  The borders around the pink cover are bone white, not yellowed with age.  Virtually no significant ring wear on this one, which is so common for this record because the cover has a matte finish not laminate.  Only flaw is a bump of the lower right corner.  Back cover is equally clean, bone white, no ring wear, no writing.  Ever so slight rubbing along right hand margin.  Hard to imagine coming across a more nicely preserved example of this cover.  I will grade it Near Mint (NM).  The vinyl is equally nice, retaining its original high gloss sheen.  No noticeable scratches or scuffs.  Perhaps some faint signs of having been taken out of the inner sleeve a few times, but nothing that can be felt or easily seen except under certain lighting.  Labels are clean and bright, no marks around spindle holes.  I wouldn't be surprised if this record has been played only once previously.  Plays very nice, with full-bodied mono fidelity.  I would grade the vinyl Near Mint Minus (NM-).  Copies of this record in this condition do not come around very often.
