Description

INTRODUCING THE BEATLES
VEE JAY VJLP 1062

If the pictures don't load email me and I will send them to you.
Up for auction is a very solid mono copy of the famous collectible record album from The Beatles titled "Introducing The Beatles" (Vee-Jay LP1062). I believe, from my research, that this is an authentic, VERY RARE VERSION 1 copy which includes "Love Me Do" and "P.S. I Love You" on both the jacket and the record. The pictures tell the story. The semi-gloss front slick is very clean with only minor shelf wear. George Harrison's shadow clearly visible.

This is the column back version with an inspection stamp in the lower right corner.
I am not a record collector so judge my condition evaluation accordingly and ask any questions before bidding.
I'd rate the cover VG+ with no major flaws. The spine is nice and clearly ledgible, although there is some wear on the seams. The bottom seam has a tiny 1/4" split at the spine and a 1/2" split at the opening.
There is no writing or other defacment of the jacket front or back.

As you can see the plain inner sleeve is present and very clean. No ratty edges
Labels are semi gloss with crisp silver lettering, full rainbow spectrum colorband, and oval Vee Jay logo.
In the trail off on both sides the vinyl has "AudioMatrix" machine stamped, "6-29-63", and "A" hand scribed.
Trail off on side one measures just over 3/4" and has "63-3402" hand scribed.
Trail off on side two measures just over 7/8" and has "63-3403" and "RA" hand scribed.

The vinyl is clean with only minor blemishes and plays through with a few audible pops, mostly between songs (Side one is better than side two). There appears to be one spot in the song "Boys" where the needle "jumps" slightly, possibly to the adjacent groove. I can't tell if there is something on the record or if there is a scratch in the direction of the grooves. (I am using a Sony PS FL5 turntable with a very lightweight cartridge, it might need a little more pressure. I have a Stones album that does the same thing.) It is a minor problem and does not prevent the record from playing through, but you should consider it when bidding. I took the picture above to show the gleem of the vinyl but it doesn't really show. It is respectable.

Now, here's the best news. I salvaged this record, along with about 200 others, from a neighbor who was taking them to the dump. My good fortune can be yours as I am offering this with no reserve, although I believe it is a valuable record. Don't pass up this opportunity to add a very rare item to your collection or to buy a gift for that special record collector in your life.
