IRAKLIS Se Allous Kosmous 2-LP Greek Prog/folk Pokora

Mike McLatchey said this about Iraklis’s Se Allous Kosmous 2-LP set in his review for the Gnosis2000 site: “Iraklis were one of the few Greek rock groups of the 70s to adopt progressive influences, although they tend to be few and far between. Se Allous Kosmous was a double LP released in 1976 which portrayed a symphonic/classical rock infused with traditional influences. The instrumentation is expansive, from the choir of male and female voices to the orchestral shadings of strings and horns to the typical rock instrumentation of drums, bass and keys and on to a number of traditional instruments. Musically, Iraklis are all over the map, including grandiose symphonic rock, a piano solo, what sound like rockified traditionals (think of a cross between Kolinda and Gualberto here), operatic choirs, soft and medieval tinged folk (Anacrusa here) and just about any combination thereof. It's obvious that Aphrodite's Child's 666 was a major influence here, and while similarly lacking cohesion, it doesn't quite have the same impressive moments either. Probably the closest analog to what Iraklis were doing here would be Los Jaivas' Obras de Violeta Parra or perhaps their work with an orchestra.”  This original press is a rare one and gets a rarity rating of 4 discs in the Hans Pokora book.  Released in Greece on EMI/Odeon in 1976, this 2-LP set comes in a gatefold cover.  The cover is in VG+++ and the records are in VG+ and Ex condition.  (For more info on my grading system, click on the “me” icon above.)

In the U.S., postage would be about $4.77 for one LP sent by Media Mail.  Package insured upon request.  Winners outside of the U.S. will be notified of postal fees, but an approximate cost for one LP to many countries is $16.20 by airmail (but Canada and Mexico will be less than this for most single LP packages).  Yes, I do combine shipping so if you bid on and win more than one item, you WILL save on postage!  Note: I do not gouge on postage and packaging costs.  Record will be carefully packaged in a strong, oversized LP mailer.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.  E-mail: david.o@jjldj.com.
