Irene McNeil
" Mademoiselle Rythme "
London MB-14, 1958 original issue (Canada) Mono pressing
"Miss Rhythm" Irene McNeil began her career in Montreal's busy 50's caberet scene, recording a handful of obscure singles and just 2 long plays......this now highly-coveted coveted rocker in 1958, and her second long play "Un Rendez-Vous" in 1963.
Canada's first female rocker is accompanied here by Rod Tremblay & His Orchestra swinging through both originals and a few covers of rock 'n' roll / rockabilly classics by Bill Hailey, Ivory Joe Hunter and Elvis among others, all sung in french.
