"Good Morning World" (Irma's, 1975). I have friends who think I'm insane for rating this artist so highly but I'll go to the grave defending her and her unique vocal stylings. Little is known about Juarez but liners on this LP (from a Honolulu Bulletin interview) fill in some gaps: "From a nun-a to a real estate-a to a lost-a leg to a composer and producer" [!!]. Here's clips of her "Chi Chi Chi" and "Magic Stars" songs. Also from the back liners: "Irma's 'delicate & new world of sound' is a registered trademark or Irma's Records".

Could there be a more uplifting, life-affirming album out there? mrs. juarez may be disabled but her spirit is indomitable and the world she inhabits seems occupied year round by butterflies, poppy fields, tweeting bluebirds and never-ending rainbows. her voice and stylized delivery are fantastically idiosyncratic and each song is performed over a sprightly mid-sized orchestra. i am thrilled to offer a spare copy of this wonderful, little-known gem, a UNIQUE experience, scoring huge points in my book for having no relation to any other trendy lounge, psych, loner, underground, blah blah blah genre.

Vinyl condition: vg++ (but still plays with a couple scattered pops due to press)
Cover Condition: vg+

RECORD GRADING:

Near Mint: This is the top grade and is in pristine condition with excellent gloss and no marks. May look unplayed. A NM cover will show no signs of wear.

A NM- is slightly below the NM grade with only one imperfection but generally flawless.

VG++: Record may have sleeve marks from being pulled in and out of a cover. Typically these marks will only be viewable under a bright light bulb. Generally will play through like a NM- with little to no surface noise. Cover may have storage wear, tiny age spots, or creasing, nothing distracting or major.

VG+: Visible scuffing or surface wear may be present, but not deep enough to affect play. VG+ records may have slight surface noice, but only noticeable in quiet passages of music (or at beginning of record or between tracks.) This slight surface noise should not overwhelm the music experience otherwise. Covers in this grade may have ringwear, edgewear, creases, or general shelf wear. Splits or writing on cover or label will be noted.

VG: Vinyl will display many hairline scuffs or scratches, but will play with a tolerable amount of noise. A great play copy but clearly used. Cover may have splits and heavy wear, writting or stains, and possible tears or creases

We generally do not list below VG unless a record is incredibly rare. We do not sell reissues!
