Mario Nascimbene – Melodie e ritmi - Piccoli complessi jazz (Meridiana 502, Italy, late 60's)
What a record ! Discs on this Italian library music series (Nascimbene' own, private label) usually sells for 250 and sometimes more... Probably even more difficult to find than his superb soundtracks "Le soldatesse", "Commandos" or "Alexander the Great"... The orchestra on this album is directed by Roberto Pregadio, so you know how subtle and refined the music can be... Very beautiful small jazz beat group sound with afrocuban influences, organ pop, harpsichord and exotic jazz... Wonderful ! Tracks are : "Suono e velluto", "Allegria estate", "Ritmico Swing", "Tempo di vacanze", "Abbandono", "Gioia di vivere", "Viaggio di piacere", "Omaggio a Shearing", "Baby Swing", "Blues della notte", "Surf Service", "Cosmic Tamouré", "Afro Cuban Shake". Very similar to Giuliano Sorgini's album "Percussioni in crescendo", Piero Umiliani, or Paolo Renosto / Lesiman earlier work. Less than 200 copies pressed ?
