This is the original 1st version of IXNA before Dumb switched to the finger logo. Where as they only pressed 500 records in the Bay area and according to Novak who owned the label did not sell them all. This one was sent to Irwin Chusid (WFMU) NY and has a typed letter signed by Novak to Irwin telling him in so many words that the record is ready to be frequency modulated by his radio station and goes on to tell him of the 9 other releases on the label. For more on the story of Novak and Dumb records check out http://www.lastdaysofmanonearth.com/blog/?p=342

This also has the original lyric insert for the 2 songs Mi Ne Parolas b/w Ixna Portal Exo sung in Esperanto,i personally believe this is one of a kind as this version has never ever turned up and was probably Novaks own copy from 1981 signed personally with a cover letter to Irwin Chusid (WFMU) and handwritten Dumb Records on the front of the sleeve. I scanned the rear of the sleeve as well and as i have never had a copy of this delicious 7, i have no idea if the rear is different than later pressings?

Musically, the A side, "Mi Ne Parolas," is quite the three-ring circus, encompassing a mutated surf beat, phunky bass, phased bongos, and, without warning, a flock of crazed Chuck Berry tape loops attack ruthlessly, then fall back into place behind the distinctive voice of Ms. La Palma. Flipside "Ixna Portal Exo" is appropriate, as it sounds like what one would expect after looking at the cover

The following is a quote from an interview w founder of Dumb records Novak in 2009.

"I’d pay for the release of 500, and if I ever got the $400 back from sales (I didn’t) I’d split the rest with them 50-50"

"The blue and white “sticker”-insert that where IXNA is spelled with alphabet macaroni was the original cover that they gave me.(Novak's personal copy) I didn’t like it too much. Tina had access to a Xerox machine (it wasn’t that easy in those days if you were doing things on the cheap) and created the “finger logo” and the whimsical finger puppets graphic (those are Tina’s fingers). Marina wasn’t too happy with the change, but it really wasn’t that big a deal in the end"

That pretty much says it all,as this is the only known copy with this cover!! Original 1st press Dumb 45 PJ 101 w exclusive cover letter and insert.

45 in NM condition. Sleeve is Excellent with ageing (Browning) and light scuff marks on front. Lyric insert is E as well with light ageing. Cover letter is priceless and 1 of a kind.

No Drill Holes, C/C or saw cuts.
