Description
On offer here is the classic Iggy and the Stooges original 1973 LP called Raw Power.This LP should have been a monster hit equally rivalling his friend David Bowie's LP Ziggy Stardust who incidentally produced the album.Sadly however with little or no promotion by CBS the album was released a year after recording and the LP sold only a few thousand copies only slightly better than The Stooges first 2 albums.
The title track and album name Raw Power was exactly what was recorded on vinyl. Fast pulsating energetic tracks which was so much at odds with the more fashionable progressive rock.Perhaps the music buying public were still not ready for such a different outlook until Punk came along 3 or 4 years later. Rightly so this album is now hailed as a classic.
The LP cover is in VG condition with a few light creases and some cover wear.There are no tears, writing or rips.Still a fantastic picture of Iggy.The inner picture sleeve is again in VG condition with some slight creasing near the top opening.The record visually looks in Near Excellent condition with minimal play. I would grade Side 1 as VG+with just occassional light surface noise. Side 2 is graded as Good to Very Good condition with some occassional surface noise and a few clicks here and there.
Altogether although not mint this a very respectable example of this hard to find LP which is now 38 years old. £5.00 start and no reserve.
