Description
Here is a set of two mixing acetates originally owned by Ike & Tina's trumpeter and producer Claude Williams. The discs contain three slightly different mixes of the single "Sweet Rhode Island Red." I acquired them from an estate in Hollywood and it wasn't until I got them home and had a listen that it became obvious that the name "Claude" scrawled on both sleeves was Claude Williams. Both discs have production notes written on them in grease pen (see pics). Williams was Ike and Tina's longtime trumpeter and he produced the session that includes this track. Here's a brief bio. Both discs are VG+ with some light surface wear and excellent playback on all three sides. I've excerpted one of the sides below; it's a notably grittier mix than the one that was released.
