Description
Import LP CARAVAN In The Land of Grey and Pink Deram Label Red/White 1971 VG+++. Condition is Used.
This was Caravans third album and is usually viewed by rock critics as their best. Mojo said that in the Land of the Grey and Pink was "the quintessential Canterbury album". It is now generally regarded as a prog rock classic. In 2015 Rolling Stone listed the album as #34 on their list of 50 greatest prog rock albums of all time.
Caravan was formed in Canterbury in 1968 by Pye Hastings(guitar/vocals), Dave Sinclair (keyboards), Richard Sinclair (bass/vocals), and Richard Coughlan (drums). The album was released in 1971. It was critically well received but was not a chart success, which led to frustration within the band. Nevertheless, it has remained in print and sold steadily over the years. According to Allmusic reviewer Dave Thompson, the album is "one of the most beloved, and eccentric prog albums of them all" and "probably Caravan's finest hour".
Album is in near mint condition with very light feather marking and no scratches, skips or writing anywhere. The inner sleeve is original and in very good condition with some minor glue separation on one side. The cover is pristine as if it was purchased yesterday. This album was released on the Deram Label Red/White. Record number SDL-R1. (see photos) Any markings seen in the photos of the vinyl are reflections. Pictures were taken outside. Any questions please inquire.
