For sale here, from my personal collection of 500+ vinyl LP's, all of which I will be selling, is a very rare original, 1st and Limited Edition, Special pressing No. 003 of Elvis Costello - This Year's Model, including the 7" single, picture inner sleeve.

Side 1 has the vinyl matrix RAD 3 A1 and an etching that reads 'SPECIAL PRESSING NO. 003 RING MOIRA ON 434 3232 FOR YOUR SPECIAL PRIZE'.

Side 2 has the Matrix RAD 3 B1 and PORKY PRIME CUT.

I have carefully cleaned both discs on a record cleaning machine, using 'The One' cleaning fluid and then listened to them all the way through to grade their condition, using The Record Collector's Grading System (please see the end of this Description section for details of Grading Categories and their definitions).

I have given it the following gradings:-

Vinyl (LP) :  EX+

Vinyl (45rpm single) : EX

Cover : VG

Insert (picture Inner sleeve) :  EX

The photographs should also help to verify the condition/gradings.

There is little sign of the LP record having been played and there is VERY little lessening in sound quality.  On side 2 there is just a few seconds of light crackle at the start of track 1 and a few seconds of light crackling at the start of track 6.

The LP record labels are in excellent condition but there is a small round sticker on both sides, which were put on many years ago after being cleaned on my record cleaning machine, to record the number of plays (but were never actually marked). I have decided not to attempt to remove these in case it damages the labels.

The 7" single has a little light crackling for a few seconds in the quiet intro section of side 2 but otherwise sounds excellent. The labels are in excellent condition.

The LP cover has some wear to the edges, corners and a lesser amount to the spine. There is slight creasing to the front top left hand corner (see photo 17)

The cover of the 7" single also has a small amount of wear to the edges and corners and a little more wear to the back (see photos).

The cardboard picture inner sleeve for the LP has only very light wear.

The Album and single will be despatched with the vinyl in an archival quality anti-static, anti-dust/dirt, anti-scratch inner sleeve,  the album cover and 7"single cover inside a polythene outer sleeve, all inside a double walled cardboard mailer for safety.

Record Collectors Grading System

Mint (M) 

The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent (EX)

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG)

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable.

Good (G)

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair (F)

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor (P)

The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad (B)

The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
