Another rare and hard to find 1960s UK Jazz Stereo LP record from our private collection
Innovations by Duffy Power, (with John McLaughlin & Jack Bruce). Rare 60's UK Jazz/Blues/Folk. Transatlantic TRA 229 First pressing, run out matrix has TRA229A 1U / TRA229B 1U Please note that this is the original Transatlantic UK release, not the later French one nor the 1991 Italian release on GET. Issued in 1971, this consists of studio demos from 65-67 that are regarded as his best recordings. The LP features Power on vocals, guitar and harp, and on various tracks John McLaughlin and Jack Bruce before they found fame, future Pentangle members Danny Thompson and Terry Cox and others. Tracks range from Powers own compostions to songs by Leadbelly and Muddy Waters and Billie Holiday's "God Bless the Child" to the standard "Exactly like You". It also has the vocal version of "It's Funny", co-written with John McLaughlin, that was featured on the latter's first album. Condition Vinyl - Excellent, it looks and plays near mint. No scratches, clicks or pops. Labels little or no evidence of play. Cover - The laminated front cover has a ring mark and some small creases, with some slight wear at the bottom of the opening. The matt reverse has the same wear near the opening and a small scuff on the bottom edge. The bottom seam has become unglued, which looks easily repairable though this has not been attempted. Inner sleeve - The original inner is intact with slight age discolouration.NB: Other rare LPs listed and soon to be listed
