Description
The Beatles/Introducing The Beatles (2nd Edition Stereo-Stereophonic SR 1062 embossed in black at top of a stock mono cover, as shown)/Vee Jay (VJ) SR 1062 (Stereo) (1964) The story goes that VJ ran out of stereo covers and labels because nobody was prepared for the demand for Beatles' records in early 1964. VJ had plenty of mono covers and labels on hand, so, to speed production and get the albums into stores, VJ added the Stereophonic SR 1062 by embossing it onto the top of the mono jackets, and added STEREO to the top of the record labels, just above the VJ logo, as shown. The rest, as they say, is history!
The record has been play-graded all the way through, is true stereo, side 1 plays and looks VG. Side 2 is G+, has some serious light to moderate scratches that are mostly audible during the divider bands between songs. The dynamic range of the record drowns out most of the noise during the actual songs. Note the side 2 label has been improperly cropped at the top, as shown. The jacket is a strong, strong VG+ or better. It is clean and crisp, the embossing at top is deep into the cover art...you can see some of the relief in the picture provided. The cover does have some light, general wear, as shown. All seams and spine are intact. This record has a white inner sleeve. This will be shipped with the record in a white sleeve outside the jacket, to prevent damaging the jacket while in transit. The jacket will be sleeved in plastic, and double-boxed in a specially designed, oversized "wing box" with extensions that protect the jacket corners. This item will be insured for full sale value prior to shipping.
Any cropping, color shift or distortion of any image is the scan or photo, NOT the item, unless otherwise noted.
