Description

In this auction:

  • INTRODUCING THE BEATLES” LP by The Beatles

  • This is Vee Jay Records VJLP 1062.

  • It was issued in 1964.

  • This is Version 2 of this LP with column back cover and includes the cuts “Ask Me Why” and “Please Please Me” which replaced “Love Me Do” and “P.S. I Love You” which are on Version 1 of this LP.

  • The labels have a black background and silver printing.

  • The labels have “VJ” and “VEE JAY RECORDS” in SILVER PRINT inside SILVER BRACKETS.

  • According to Cox and Daniels, this is the RARE LABEL VARIATION that has a black background with SMALL silver brackets, logo and text. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A COMMON VERSION 2 LABEL FOR THIS LP.

  • BOTH COVER and VINYL are ABSOLUTELY AUTHENTIC! We know this because:

    • The COVER has George Harrison’s shadow.

    • The COVER has spine printing.

    • The LABELS have “THE BEATLES” printed above the spindle hole.

    • The VINYL has “AUDIOMATRIX “partially stamped in the trail-off on both sides.

  • So you can bid with confidence that you are receiving the real deal and not a counterfeit.

  • The COVER is in VERY STRONG VG to VG+ CONDITION. There is light to moderate overall cover wear on the front cover slick primarily in the center on John’s jacket and pants leg, on George’s hair and at the bottom center edge on Paul’s jacket sleeve. All 4 corners have “balding” and ¼ to ½ inch of “balding“ adjacent to each corner. There is also just a little bit of flaking on the top seam and some light to moderate wear on the bottom seam and along the opening. There is a small push on the bottom left and bottom right corners. The rear cover is quite clean with light wear and aging/foxing.

  • The VINYL is in VERY NICE VG+ CONDITION with several light surface hairlines/scuffs and one scuff that is slightly/lightly “feel-able”. The VINYL HAS LOTS OF GLOSS! The labels are nice and clean with minimal small and light spindle trails near the hole.

  • This LP also comes with its ORIGINAL VEE JAY RECORDS PAPER INNER SLEEVE that has some creasing on one corner, a few small tears at the top opening, some glue stains visible on one side and a 3-inch split on a side edge.

OVERALL, it’s a NICE COPY of this RARE VEE JAY VERSION 2 LP with black labels & SMALL SILVER BRACKETS, LOGO & TEXT for someone’s Beatles or vinyl collection!
