Description

IRON MAIDEN - The Soundhouse Tapes - 7" Single EP

ORIGINAL copy of Iron Maiden's 1979 debut release "The Soundhouse Tapes" on Rock Hard Records (ROK 1). One of only 5,000 ORIGINAL copies ever pressed.

This 7" 45rpm single EP has the following  3-track listing:

Side one (ROK-1-A *EG*  SA) - "Iron Maiden"

Side two (ROK-1-B *EG*  SA) - "Invasion" / "Prowler"

In the run-off area, there are light markings that were hand etched...... *EG* .......... SA .......... ROK - 1 - A .......... LYN 7627 - IT .......The sequence "LYN 7628 - IT" is much lighter than the other etchings, and is almost impossible to see with out a head-torch.  (See Picture)

Included is the paper merchandise sheet that originally came with the EP

Back in the day I was a massive Iron Maiden fan, whats more I worked in the former indie record shop "Bionic" I attended all the large u.k record fairs and made quite a few friends in the process, One such friend of mine worked at EMI and hand managed to get his grubby mitts on a collection that had been used to decorate one of EMI's offices or something to that effect I payed top dollar for the lot including an Eddys Head Cd Box set, 10 Years CD Singles Boxset, some other early EP's and a few posters. ( now I know what your thinking "The Soundhouse Tapes was released before Iron Maiden were signed by EMI" well I know my friend worked for EMI and I know this came from there so I have always assumed that this was either one of the demos that was sent to EMI or a copy acquired by EMI for the sake of archiving.) Either way before I owned this record it just sat on a shelf in a office somewhere and since I have owned it, it has rested protected in cardboard and plastic sleeves locked away in a carry case. Before this day I hadn't even played it as I own a few of the different bootlegs which I played instead. I am only now selling my collection now as I am moving house and need the money.

I will post this sandwiched between two pieces of  hardboard and wrapped in felt to maintain its condition in transit.
