Grading:
Mint – This record is sealed and unplayed.
Near Mint (NM) – The record is brand new with no surface marks or deterioration of sound quality. The cover and sleeves are in perfect condition, no creases, bends or folds. Most likely unplayed, an LP in NM looks as if you just brought it home and removed the shrink-wrap.
Excellent (EX) – Record may show some signs of being played. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. Some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it.
VG+ or Very Good (VG) - The record has probably been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Shows slight scuffs or very light scratches that don’t affect one’s listening experience. Normal wear and tear on the cover, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Good + or Good (G) – The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents may suffer from either folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, or discoloration.
