Description
Bethlehem EXLP1 - 3 record box set. Red label, deep groove. Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess narrated by Al “Jazzbo” Collins using the Bethlehem Stars of that time. These included Hartman, Mel Torme, Frances Faye, Betty Roche, George Kirby, Sally Blair and others detailed in booklet. This is the original booklet which came with the boxset. Russ Garcia conducted the Bethlehem Orchestra; Duke Ellington’s Orchestra; The Australian Jazz 5; Pat Moran 4 also plays. All artists are listed in the booklet. The red “handkerchief” is the original simulated handkerchief which inserts in the cover and is attached to a paper on the inside cover that details some of the players. This is a spectacular presentation. It was in the original plastic sealed bag container. Very rare to find in this fine condition. Cover: Mint. All sides intact, no aging. Records: Mint. Visually shows no wear. Played only 1 time to audition the condition. No surface noise. Plays like new. Audibly checked. Note: Can not be combined for shipping due to the size and weight of the box set.
