JACKIE MCLEAN "Bluesnik" Blue Note 4067, "P", "RVG," DG, Mono Vinyl

This is the 1961, first pressing, RVG-stamped, Deep-Groove, "P"-pressing of JACKIE MCLEAN's "Bluesnik" on the Blue Note Inc * 47 West 63rd NYC labels of  Blue Note BLP 4067. ("R" under "Note" on label) Musicians include McLean, Freddie Hubbard, Kenny Drew, Doug Watkins, Pete La Roca.

This is a brilliantly-recorded and punchy-sounding RVG-engineered disc with excellent detail and resolution of all instruments; great tone and depth. Rich, clear and very dynamic. VINYL has a handful of long, what appear as scratches or marks, but only two are  feelable. Many non- feelable hairline marks under direct light. Vinyl has consistent low to medium level pops and ticks. The pops and ticks on Side 2 are louder than those on Side 1, for some odd reason. No distortion. No skips. No warps. No locked grooves. Good gloss on both sides. As with all Lexington Ave to New York USA Blue Note pressings, imperfections do not detract from this powerfully recorded, engineered and pressed vinyl. Instruments are clear, rich, full of tone, very dynamic, with no distortion or tizz in upper frequencies. The Deep-Grooved 47 West 63rd NYC labels are clean (sticker on Sside 1) and show minimal spindle marks/wear.

COVER has excellent lamination, and there are no seam splits or spine split. Corners mildly worn, one corner appears mangled by animal teeth. "BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23" back jacket shows water stains at spine and corners, otherwise clean. See photos.

This LP was play-tested on a high-end system consisting of Music Hall MMF-7.3 turntable/Ortofon Bronze cartridge, Heed Audio Elixir integrated amplifier, Heed Quasar Phono stage and Quad S2 speakers (with very revealing ribbon tweeters). Record cleaned on VPI 16.5.
