In the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, King Records in Japan issued a series of albums of previously unissued Blue Note sessions in covers that copied the original Blue Note design style.

This album was recorded in 1960 and featured these two great saxophonists leading a sextet with Blue Mitchell, Kenny Drew, Paul Chambers and Art Taylor. Half of the tunes were used on Jackie McLean’s “Jackie’s Bag” at the time and the rest was unissued until this album, which has not been reissued in this form since.

This is one of the rarest titles which were first issued in GXF 3000 series before coming out again in the GXK-8000 series.

This album GXF-3067 is in mint condition (never played) and the jacket is in perfect shape except for some  back cover age discoloration. It is on the traditional blue and white Blue Note label.
