Description
On offer are two LPs by JAH WOBBLE’S INVADERS OF THE HEART – RISING ABOVE BEDLAM, OVAL RECORDS, catalogue number 9031-75470-1, and WITHOUT JUDGEMENT, KK RECORDS, catalogue number KK 039, from 1989 and 1991 respectively.
Musical psychogeography from the esteemed bassman, founder-member of PIL, and the creative force of Invaders of the Heart. Without Judgement draws inspiration from the post-industrial urban sprawl. It’s strong on ambient sounds, spiritual unease and those trademark rock-steady bass lines. Rising Above Bedlam is the more commercial proposition: song-based, open to the eclectic and exotic, and boasting contributions from Natacha Atlas and Sinead O’Connor. Justin Adams is his faithful guitarist on both occasions.
Both records are NEAR MINT. Both sleeves are NEAR MINT/EXCELLENT PLUS, with sharp and straight edges. The labels are clean and free of spindle-wear. AS NEW, in short. Both were new and unplayed when I bought them, and they haven’t troubled my turntable over-much (that’s no comment on quality, just my gadfly listening habits). Btw, the country of manufacture is Germany for Bedlam, and the UK for Judgement.
