James Brown
James Joseph Brown was an American singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer, and bandleader. The creator of funk music and a major figure of 20th century popular music and dance, he is often referred to as the "Godfather of Soul". In a career that spanned six decades, he influenced the development of several music genres.

Sex Machine is a 1970 double album by James Brown. It showcases the playing of the original J.B.'s lineup featuring Bootsy and Catfish Collins, and includes an 11-minute rendering of the album's title song, different from the original recording of the title song which was released as a two-part single in 1970.

This live outing from Brown's seminal 1970 J.B.'s lineup features Bootsy Collins, Clyde Stubblefield, Fred Wesley, Maceo Parker, Bobby Byrd, and many more. While it's a cut below Love Power Peace in documenting this lineup live, Brown and his band still smoke, tearing into extended versions of funk classics like "Sex Machine" (nearly 11 minutes), "Brother Rapp," "Give It Up or Turnit a Loose," and "Mother Popcorn," plus a healthy quotient of earlier soul material sprinkled in between.

VG + = Very Good . Vinyl has a few surface scuffs and/or very minor scratches (but no ‘feeler’ scratches). Label shows some evidence of wear, no writing. Jacket has some seam splits and 1-2 small hairline creases and/or minor chipping at edges or bumped corners, some ring wear, no writing, some liquid stains.
