JAMES BROWN – I GOT YOU (I feel good) King LP KS-946
Starday-King 1970 Blue cover re-issue of James Brown’s 1966 hit album on King Records. One of the Godfather’s most collectible album editions from the King era – a real dinosaur to find, especially in this condition!
I recently tore the shrink wrap off the cover (it was coming off anyway) to reveal, for the most part, a MINT condition cover with only some very mild color darkening along the open LP side. No seam splits at all, a BB cutout hole in upper left front cover is the only other anomaly to this really BEAUTIFUL specimen (glare on the upper third of front cover is from camera flash).
Vinyl is about par with what one would expect from flat blue-label King vinyl editions from this era. In other words, King sometimes used recycled vinyl, and that seems to be the case here – but the album plays through without skipping, with minimal popping – a very strong VG grade. With maybe three exceptions, the mixes themselves are true stereo mixes, which is also a treat. If you’re not satisfied, ship the LP back to me and I’ll refund your purchase, less shipping and handling.
