Description
This item is a demonstration copy of the single, 'Night Train', by James Brown and the Famous Flames issued by Parlophone in 1962 - the catalogue number is 45-R 4922 and the matrix stamp is 45 K 10629 1N. It is clearly marked 'Demonstration record - Not for sale' and also has the standard large red A to prevent confusion by the disc jockeys - the B-side ('Why does everything happen to me?') is white in colour. It comes in a white cardboard sleeve but a Parlophone paper sleeve from this period would be very easy to obtain.
This record is certainly in good condition - I have cleaned it but have not had the opportunity to play it. It has very limited wear and tear and also a single scratch on the A-side - from many years selling records, and from knowledge of how well 7"'s were pressed at his time, I would not expect this to significantly impair the sound quality.
I'm starting this at a very low price - ebay should be fun and I'm keen to see how much it makes - this in no way reflects how much I think it could make. The only other reference I can find to a copy of this selling online, on ebay in 2007, puts the value at £51 (on the popsike.com website).
