Description

JAMES DAVIS Doodle bee/Bucket head (US) Federal 12360 (1959 – 7 inch 45rpm vinyl single in company sleeve, original U.S. issue. Pop/R&B/rock & roll instrumental featuring tenor sax man James “J.C.” Davis from James Brown’s band, backed by organ and rhythm – this one was probably aimed at people who were buying the likes of Dave Baby Cortez at the time. Flip is grittier R&B and pretty much influenced by Bill Doggett’s “Honky tonk”. Drill hole through labels. Not common. Grade EX-, clean copy.)

POSTAGE for one, two or three singles in one packet: post & packing within Australia is $AU 2.50; airmail from Australia to North America or U.K./Europe is $AU 6.50 (about $US 5.00); airmail to Japan/Asia/New Zealand is $AU 4.00 (about $US 3.00).

This item will be mailed from Adelaide, South Australia

GRADING: I use the (U.K.) Record Collector grading system which includes an EX grade. American collectors please note that EX usually equates to a Goldmine VG++. All records are graded under strong light. I have always had a good reputation for grading and usually get it right. If you're not happy with my grading, tell me. I'm happy to refund if you have a genuine complaint. However, don't expect a near mint record if I've graded it F, G or VG... Records are graded for the most part visually only, although most of the lower grades are also play checked, and in many cases play better than they look. The following gradings are used: M, mint condition, unplayed, with no marks on playing surface and labels as new. Older records are very rare in this condition and it is a grading I rarely use. M-, mint minus, either unplayed, with minimum scuffs caused by paper sleeve, or played once or twice only and still as new. EX, excellent condition, record played carefully, very clean surface, minimum scuffing. (EX+ or EX- means a little better or worse). VG, very good condition, scuffing or signs of groove wear but no bad scratches. (VG+ or VG- means a little better or worse). G, good condition, well played with plenty of scuffs, light scratches and groove wear. F, fair condition, playable but heavily scuffed or scratched, with a lot of surface noise.
