Description
Very rare 7-INCH VINYL 45 rpm EP RELEASE from 1975-1976 issued ONLY in Southern California entitled A Bicentennial Salute to America (Warner Bros. 103), featuring THE FIRST SANTA MONICA ALL CITY ELEMENTARY CHORUS, along with special guest appearances by JAN & DEAN, HERB ALPERT, QUINCY JONES, BILL DANA, O.C. SMITH, THE CAPTAIN & TENNILLE (mispelled on label as "TENNILE"), PAUL WILLIAMS, MENTOR WILLIAMS (Paul's brother), and RICHARD HALE. Music (America the Beautiful, Yankee Doodle, You're a Grand Ole Flag, etc.) and both spoken word. Features stories read and salutes to America by various artists. Jan & Dean have one spot, in which Dean reads part of America's history and both Jan and Dean sign out. The Captain & Tennille say a few words while their hit, Love Will Keep Up Together, plays in the background. (see both pix for full track listing.) Issued in generic Warner/Reprise 45 sleeve. Warner Bros. labels. Record visually in VG+. Plays with some surface noise (crackle; more noticeable in some spots than others) because of the amount of time squeezed into this EP.
