JANIS JOPLIN

MEGA RARE ISRAELI LP

   

Up for sale is a mega rare ISRAELI pressing of Big Brother And The Holding Company 1st LP.

The album was originally pressed in the US on Mainstream label under the name "Big Brother And The Holding Company Featuring Janis Joplin" and included 10 tracks.

The Israeli record company however felt that the name Big Brother & The Holding Company is not familiar enough to the local crowd and might not sell well, so they decided to issue the album under the name "Call On Me" credited to Janis Joplin only and with a totally different laminated flipback cover. It was issued on the very obscured PAX label and had a unique catalog number.

The Israeli pressing also included 12 songs unlike the original US Mainstream issue which had only 10 tracks. The two tracks added to the Israeli LP were "Coo Coo" and "The Last Time" which originally issued in the US as singles and did not appear on the original Mainstream LP.

A must for any Janis Joplin collector out there. Very rare and hard to find nowadays, especially in such a nice condition.

Packaging

 

Records are wrapped in bubble-nylon and packed in a high-quality heavy cardboard package. Record is being taken out of the sleeve to avoid damages while shipping.

Grading

 

I use "Record Collector" grading method (Mint, NM, EX, VG, etc.)

My highest grade for a non-sealed records is usually NM (Near Mint) I will grade it as Mint only if it's sealed or if I am 100% certain that this record was hardly ever played and has no pressings faults. I will not list records less than VG condition unless they are extremely rare.
