JANOS STARKER / BACH - " SUITES FOR UNACCOMPANIED CELLO Nos 4 & 6 ", Columbia Gramophone Company Ltd. (33CX 1745) Mono, 1961.
Very rare 1961, first UK pressing of the very rare Columbia LP with the original dark blue label - see photo.
English issue and pressing.
Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve (the original inner sleeve has also been kept and will be included with this item).
In the name of getting the auction going, I will start this item at just 99p.
CONDITION:
VINYL = V.G.+ (No heavy scratches, no groove damage, no distortion, just the very lightest of spindle trails, etc. Under a bright grading lamp, there are a few light surface marks visible, although on playback they do not correlate directly to any audible disruptions. That said, there is some faint surface noise just audibile several sections of this LP and it does still suffer from the odd occasional click and crackle as it plays.
To my mind, these imperfections certainly devalue the record slightly but by no means completely ruin it. This is of course a very collectable and expensive record and if you can put up with these minor defects, it could be a real bargain for someone who really values having a 1961 vinyl original over a lifeless, sterile remastered CD.
Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)
SLEEVE = V.G. (No big rips, tears or creases, etc. That said, the edges and corners of this sleeve are well worn, there are some small creases just in the laminate along the spine, the back is also dirty and has some writing in black pen on the top left corner - see photos for further clarification)
