"(HERE WE GO ROUND THE) LEMON TREE" / "PATRICIA'S DREAM"
on the Original 1967 PHILIPS RECORDS BF 1687 from 1968
Roy Wood wrote this cool and whimsical Pop-Psych tune with The MOVE, and because they didn't issue it in the UK as a single (though they could easily have had another great hit), it was up for grabs to be covered!
So - what better band to do that, than the JASON CREST. Another UFO-Club era band who were on the scene playing to similar audiences as The Move and Pink Floyd.
This was one of several 7"s by the band, who never issued an LP at the time - and none of them was a success....least of all this issue, or the final single 'Place In The Sun/Black Mass' either.
Who can say why, except perhaps their record company failed to put any effort into promotion and radio plays.
So, ultimately a rare single and extremely collectible for fans of UK Psychedelia.
The vinyl grades NM/EX, plays well, has a slight warp (no problem, and I use a light needle weight)
Lables are bright and clean EX/NM-
