Description

My vinyl record rating guide:          vinyl  /  sleeve

NMINT-         outstanding gloss, should have no surface scuffing at all  /  strong spine with clear, legible print, should be close to perfect

EX                 outstanding gloss, a few light superficial surface scuffs, should play great with crisp, clear analog sound and the possibility of a little light background noise familiar to vinyl lovers most likely during the dead wax spots between tracks  /  strong spine with clear, legible print, may have a little light age wear to the cover or the corners

VG+              superb gloss, some light superficial surface scuffing, should play great with crisp, clear analog sound and some light occasional background noise possible  /  strong spine but the print may be compromised somewhat, some light age wear, but no seam splits or writing on the jacket unless noted in the description

VG                nice gloss, multiple light superficial surface scuffs, should still play well but with a little more background noise possible, should still be an enjoyable listening experience and I will usually play rate these and make it known on the listing  /  cover should be functional but may have some seam splits or writing, I will note all splits or writing in the description

GOOD          good gloss, numerous scuffs, should play though but will have background noise, I will play rate these to make sure that the record plays through without skips, I will not list a record that skips, there may be a "click" on a few rotations, but I will note these in the description, I usually only list records that are more collectable at this rating  /  cover should be functional but will have some seam splits or writing, I will note all splits or writing in the description

FAIR             I will only list these records if they are highly collectable and will describe each one individually

NOTE:          Keep an eye out for some great LPs up for auction in the near future and check my store for more great records.

This Listing ~

ARTIST(s):      Jay Jay Johnson with either a quintet or sextet, including Hank Mobley, Horace Silver, Kenny Clarke, Clifford Brown, Charles Mingus, Paul Chambers, Wynton Kelly

Title:                The Eminent - Volume 2

Label:             1955 Blue Note records mono original 12" deep groove, 767 Lexington Ave. mono release 1506   (RVG and "ear" in the dead wax on both sides)

Sleeve:           VG  (shelf wear, staple in upper left hand corner, the number "214" written on the bottom left hand corner, 3" split seam, top seam at the opening, a couple of residue marks where there once was a sticker, store sticker on the back of the jacket, see pictures)

Vinyl:              EX  (superb gloss, plays great with crisp, clean analog sound, and tremendous fidelity. There are a few spots of extremely light occasional background noise. I played both sides and this is a terrific LP, there is one spot at the beginning and the end of play in the dead wax that does interfere with playback except for a couple of "thumps" at the end of the recording. All records cleaned with my VPI cleaner, labels are perfect)
