Label: TRANSITION Number: TRLP - J - 2 Year: 1956 Vinyl Condition: VERY VERY GOOD minor, minimal scuffs and surface scratches. I have played this LP, a few seconds per track, and there were no skips. There are the nominal pops, but the sound is pretty decent, especially considering this LP is over 50 years old. See the picture below as well. Label Condition: EXCELLENT PLUS no spindle marks, super clean, may have not been played by the looks of the label. Cover Condition: VERY GOOD the cover has a 4" split at the top right. Otherwise some dirt on the cover and a spot where a price sticker was. Otherwise, in very decent shape. Notes: Also present, is the leaflet book that came with the LP. This book may be just as big a prize in its own right, (see picture below.) It lists the performers on the LP as well as the tracks. It also has a commentary by Tom Wilson as to how this impromtu jam session occurred. The 8 page leaflet has a corner tear on the last page, and has come apart from the staple, but all the information is there and a great piece in its own right. It tells that the session occured on April 22 / 1956. Internet searches have this LP as being recorded in 1955. These records were obtained from a fellow who was a record company excecutive 30 years ago. Ninty percent of the vinyl in this collection is mint to near mint. Many have had the celophane removed, but have never touched a needle - virgin vinyl. I realize the magnitude of what mint means, but many of the records to be listed are better than near mint, so please forgive the terminology in that regard. Included in this collection are many audiophile records, picture discs, promotional records, sealed records and other pieces that were only available to those inside the business. If you are seeking anything in particular, let me know and we will endeavour to find it and list it sooner than later. Please email if you have any questions well in advance of bidding. Due to the rarity of these albums I would strongly suggest to not wait until the last minute to bid. Don't risk getting shut out! S/H is the actual postal rate, quoted from the post office plus $1.50 handling. Records will be shipped boarded between cardboard. Multiple record wins will be shipped boxed.
