Description
Very nice first press (1B/1B matrices) copy of the rare Tempo LP TAP22, 'Jazz Couriers In Concert'.
Personnel: Ronnie Scott (tenor sax), Tubby Hayes (tenor sax, vibes), Terry Shannon (piano), Phil Bates (bass), Bill Eyden (drums).
Sleeve is very nice condition. These flimsy sleeves usually suffered badly over the years with wear and tear, but this one is structurally excellent, with fully intact flipbacks (little age browning on them, but minor), a little ringwear, 6 light spine edge creases, a little loss to the spine title, 6 light bottom edge creases, 4 light top edge creases, and light scuffs to each corner. These are all relatively minor points on a very nice sleeve. Overall grade is VG.
Beautifully pressed (by Decca, this one possibly on the presses for the American 'London' label, as the label groove is much closer to the edge than usual) vinyl plays extremely well, very strong audio. Both sides have some light hairlines which don't affect the audio, and side one has 3 obvious marks, one on track one which does cause some clicks in the middle of the track, not too obtrusive, the others cause no audible problems. There are a couple of similar but lighter marks on side two not affecting audio. Despite these few marks, this is a very nice copy indeed and easily grades EX-.
