WOW, THIS ULTRA RARE JAZZ LP WILL MAKE AN AWESOME ADDITION TO A VINYL COLLECTION FOR ONE WHO APPRECIATES AND COLLECTS RARE JAZZ!
This ULTRA RARE record is most difficult to find. It is the rarer DARK RED VINYL version of this 1951 KING Records 10" LP release of "Earl Bostic and his Alto Sax" (LP 296-65 also referred to as Vol. #2). The 2009 Goldmine Price Guide lists the value of a Near Mint album of this red vinyl version to be $400. This album is not in NM condition. The vinyl is rated VG to VG+ and shows no spindle wear and minimal scuffing and scratches but does have some wear overall from its 64 year life. Side 1 has some noticeable waviness at start of track 1 and some scuffing also mostly on track 1 but record plays entirely through without skips, pops or repeats and produces a nice sound overall. Side 2 has also a small amount of waviness at start of track 1 and scuffing on tracks 1 and 2 but again plays through without skips, pops or repeats producing a nice overall sound.
The jacket (sometimes noted to be Vol. 3 In the King LP series) is in VG to VG+ condition as it shows some storage ring wear from and back and small splits on open side (.75" at top and .50" at bottom). It is also noted that there is a 8.75" clear scotch tape that was added to top edge. An older generic inner sleeve is included. A new re-sealable clear poly outer sleeve is also included to help protect this vintage gem for generations to come.
