MONICA ZETTERLUND – Swedish Sensation (Columbia 33CSX 20) UK 1958

Very rare original copy of Monica’s debut LP & an outstanding classic in the jazz vocal bag. Players include Donald Byrd, Bengt Arne Wallin, Åke Persson, Kurt Järnberg, Arne Domnérus, Georg Riedel, Joe Harris a o. Disc: visually VG(++), plays VG+. Some surfnoise and the occasional minor pop, but there’s no serious problem apart from a couple of loud clicks at the very beginning of first track side two. Labels have a few barely visible minor stains.

Cover: real fragile cover is VG. Has a few tears and minor lamination peeling towards opening on both sides; small piece of front cover missing at bottom front opening; bottom seam split 1” towards opening; bottom part of spine split 1”; top seam split 0.2” towards opening; minor tears on top back; some corner wear. SEE PHOTOS BELOW (white thing at mid-bottom seam is from flash reflection, not wear).

Gradings: Records are graded visually, unless otherwise noted. I feel that my grading is stricter than many other dealers’, and you should not feel the need to shy away from lesser grades. Discs will often play better than their visual grade; for example discs visually graded EX will more often than not play M- (even VG++ discs will often play M- or close). It’s not uncommon for other, well-established dealers to pick up stuff from my lists and upgrade it a whole lot. As low as VG+(+) has become M- in the hands of others! My VG++ and EX grades tend to equal most dealers’ NM grade.

If there's a bigger mark or something like that on one track, it'll be noted specifically. As for the covers, all forms of cut-outs are mentioned. As soon as there's only the slightest start of a ring it's downgraded to VG++. When that's the case with especially rare and/or interesting albums, you'll find it stated. I do try to make the best gradings possible, but of course I'll make mistakes every now and then. If you feel strongly that I've misjudged the condition of an item, let me know and we'll work something out, ok?

M = new, unplayed!

M- = as new, hardly ever played

EX = might have a hairline or two; only the lightest coverwear (no ring - nor beginning of it - though)

VG++ = some light and possibly audible marks, but nothing that will bother anyone but the hardcore mint fanatics; might have (beginning of) light ringwear, and/or other signs of minor coverwear.

VG+(++) = more light marks, perhaps a light scratch; more coverwear and/or fuller jacket ring

VG+(+) = marks, quite a few of which may be audible; cover's obviously used and worn a lot

VG+ = very visible marks and audible too, perhaps some surface noise; obvious severe coverwear
