This listing is for a rare 1975 factory sealed copy of J.D. Sumner And The Stamps Quartet - "Live At Murray State University, Murray, Kentucky" 2-LP set.
About the artist:
In November 1971, The Stamps were invited to tour and record with Elvis Presley. The group became a regular fixture with Presley until his untimely death on August 16, 1977. The Stamps were also featured on Presley's studio recordings between 1971 and 1977. This album was recorded in his memory.
J.D. Sumner was in the Guiness Book Of World Records for singing the lowest recorded note ever produced by the human voice, a "double low" C (C1, 3 octaves below Middle C).
J.D. gained fame with The Blackwood Brothers, and later formed The Stamps. It is difficult to comprehend how incredible a bass singer J. D. was unless you heard him sing at a live concert performance.
This 1975 2-LP set is on the "Heart Warming Records" label.
