Description
Jean Michel Damase, a pupil of Cortot, is remembered for his recordings of Faure for which he won a Grand Prix du Disque. Theodore Lack is a famous French piano pedagogue who edited a compilation of short classical pieces at the intention of piano students. The compilation, Les Classiques Favoris du piano became a big hit among piano teachers and as far as I know two pianists made a recording of that compilation. Jean Michel Damase is one of them. The other is Jacqueline Bonneau on Ducretet. Collectors will want to acquire and compare both pianists in pieces that no one ever recorded!
The Damase record on sale here is on the very elusive St Germain des Pres label. Both cover and record are like new with "naturally aged" nm.
